We really enjoyed our visit to Sun Nong Dan. The food was delicious, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. The portions were generous, and the atmosphere inside was lively and enjoyable. The only downside was that we had to wait quite a long time to get in, but once we were seated, the experience was much better. Overall, we had a good time and would come back again — just recommend planning for a wait during busy hours.

Excellent restaurant for Korean soups and stews. The banchan are flavorful and addicting, especially the buchoo or chives kimchi. Reviewers complaining about price are ignorant of the extremely generous breakfast special? This restaurant has nourished me many times over the years with their breakfast special and complimentary hot tea. It feels generous and like the restaurant is giving back to the community. Service is great, though especially so from Jayden and Brian, whom I’m always glad to see during the day shifts. They’re always kind and patient and attentive, even when the restaurant is very busy as it is often. The soups themselves are flavorful and taste good quality. The tta roh guk bap is especially seasoned and delicious. The rice is always good too. This morning I got the traditional seolangtang whose calming plainness balances very well with the seasoned banchan.

Personally, I think the food is good, but not "we should wait in line for an hour or more" good. We came here the night before and it was packed with a line extended around the parking. The next day we came during 2pm and it was about 50% capacity. We ordered the Galbi Jjim, which is pretty popular and representative for this joint. The flavor was balanced and the Galbi was tender and there was a good amount of it, the tteokbokki was perfectly cooked, soft chew, not the cheap powder type that breaks. The M portion is definitely enough for 2 people, but for $100? I didn't really find the value here, then again, you don't have 4 locations if you aren't making a killing on the margin. I just don't see any wow factor for the $100. Overall, it is just another overblown social media trap. But overall the food is pretty good.

Went straight here after a 6-hour drive last night and the service was impressive right from the start. Even though it was packed at around 9:40 PM, we were seated right away. Banchan (appetizers) came out immediately, and ordering was quick and efficient. I ordered the beef back rib soup, and it absolutely hit the spot—rich, comforting, and loaded with meat. At around $25, it’s great value and easily a 5/5 for both taste and price. My partner ordered the beef hot plate stew with cheese, which was over $100. Unfortunately, that dish didn’t live up to the price. It was heavy on vegetables and bones, and while the flavor was okay (a bit on the sweet side), it just didn’t feel worth it. I’d rate it 2/5 for taste, but 0/5 for value. Atmosphere wasn’t great—busy, loud, and not very relaxing (2/5). But the service really stood out (5/5).
